look at my adorable baby boy! His smile is what keeps me going when it’s 3 o’clock in the morning (or 3 in the afternoon for that matter) and he won’t sleep! Congrats to all the new mommies in my life. You are going to love this journey!

a little update May 4, 2007

wow…it’s been 5 weeks already…so hard to believe a) how fast time flies, and b) how long it takes to recover from “pushing gone wrong”. It’s amazing how God created a woman’s body to deliver a child, but oh how fragile we are! I hope any husbands who may read this can grasp just how much TLC us wives need after delivery (even for those whose may have had the “perfect delivery”).

So who is this little person I’ve been spending so much time with? Well he is definitely part daddy and part mommy. When we are out in public he puts on his best mellow, calm mode (like daddy) and loves to be held by anyone who can get their hands on him. At home he is either wildly flailing his arms trying to figure out how to use is bodily functions (this is a mommy trait I believe)- passing gas, pooping, and reflux-beware this is a graphic posting- or he is exploring the world with a bright smile. He holds his head up high off our shoulder desperate to see anything black and white (daddy trait, he is definitely visual), which is great because all the photos on our walls are beautiful b/w that Corey has taken. He loves to hear voices, whether it’s someone in the room, someone on the phone, tv, or using the webcam with the grandparents. He also loves listening to music and hearing the piano play (mommy trait?). He is a worrier as well (daddy trait) and has many wrinkles on his forehead- though we are trying to figure out what he is worrying about! And the latest news is that he is losing his hair and beginning to look like an old man (I apologize to any older men reading this who are losing hair as well- DAD). This is all thanks to me, because I lost my hair to as a baby too. We are hoping he has a full head of thick hair like his father. It’s awe-some to see who this little being is becoming and fun to watch him learn and grow.

He’s just beginning to coo and really smile a lot ( I still think it’s because he’s passing gas), and he had his first play date with mr. teddy and ducky this morning. It was quite entertaining.

we’re lovin’ the e.

p.s. pics are coming, but i’m having a hard time downloading them to right size.
